Monaco, September 2024 – The Monaco Yacht Show 2024, one of the most prestigious events in the global yachting calendar, returned with unprecedented grandeur, and Roccabella Yachts founder, Michael Reyburn, was there to witness it all. From breathtaking superyachts to innovative designs, the event showcased the best the yachting world has to offer.
Reyburn, an industry veteran and leading figure at the helm of London’s premier yacht dealership, spent three days immersed in the action, networking with industry professionals and inspecting some of the finest vessels in the world.
Reyburn said:
“The Monaco Yacht Show 2024 was bigger and better than ever. The variety of yachts on display was outstanding, with each one pushing the boundaries of design and luxury.”
Showstopper of the Monaco Yacht Show: KISMET by Lürssen
At the heart of the Monaco Yacht Show was the spectacular KISMET, the largest yacht ever exhibited at the event. This show-stopping vessel, built by Lürssen, left an indelible mark on Reyburn.
Reyburn commented:
“There are many ways to describe KISMET, but the level of detail aboard was simply beyond imagination. Every corner of this vessel has been meticulously designed with incredible materials and finishes. The tron-inspired corridor through the engine room was a highlight, as was the Nemo cinema room, which was beyond insane. And the SPA? It could easily rival any 7-star hotel around the world.”
Available for both the 2024-2025 winter and summer seasons, KISMET will be cruising the Mediterranean and Caribbean, offering an unparalleled yachting experience. VAT will vary depending on local rates.
Sleek Design and Elegance: DAR by Oceanco
Another standout from the show was DAR, an extraordinary yacht built by Oceanco. Known for its futuristic exterior design, DAR has undergone a series of restyling efforts since it was first launched in 2018. Now owned by a Canadian client, the yacht offers a luxurious and imaginative layout designed for privacy and entertainment.
Reyburn said:
“The exterior design of DAR is one of the most unique I’ve seen. Her expansive decks and carefully thought-out spaces provide endless possibilities for relaxation. The crew on board were equally impressive – professional, knowledgeable, and attentive.”
DAR is currently based in the South of France and will be available for charter in 2025, with VAT dependent on the territory.
Charter Machine of the Future: KING BENJI
Perhaps Reyburn’s personal favorite from the show was KING BENJI, a 50-meter yacht that Reyburn describes as the “coolest” on the charter market.
Reyburn shared:
“KING BENJI is a true charter machine. Her expansive aft deck, complete with large cranes for tenders and toys, makes her perfect for adventure lovers. The interior is incredibly unique, with a lot of wood and features that create a warm yet modern atmosphere. The galley-dining layout is particularly fun, allowing guests to interact directly with the chef while enjoying ocean views through large windows.”
What sets KING BENJI apart is its impressive owner’s deck, which includes a huge ensuite bathroom and leads directly to a plunge pool with hot and cold settings – perfect for a refreshing start to the day. The yacht also boasts a 360-degree crow’s nest, providing breathtaking views of the world’s best anchorages.
Currently based in the Caribbean, KING BENJI is open for bookings for the summer of 2025 in the Mediterranean, with location flexibility. VAT will depend on the cruising territory.
A Phenomenal Experience Despite the Rain
Over the course of three days, Reyburn viewed 15 yachts, all of which demonstrated the evolving trends and technical advancements in the yachting industry. Despite a brief period of rain on the 26th, the Monaco Yacht Show 2024 left an unforgettable impression.
Reyburn commented:
“Overall, the show exceeded expectations. The sheer scale, quality, and innovation on display were remarkable. It’s exciting to see the future of yachting taking shape, and I’m looking forward to sharing these incredible vessels with our clients at Roccabella Yachts.”
