After Major Omicron Surge, Health Secretary defends UK move to Plan B that adds New Covid Restrictions & Measures
Health Secretary Sajid Javid in his speech at the parliament on Wednesday 8th December deemed the Omicron variant of coronavirus as more transmissible and a severe threat as compared to the Delta variant.
As the UK records the highest daily increase in Omicron cases, he reiterated the importance of getting a Covid booster dose now more than ever.
Another defence of new antiviral treatments was also mentioned along with plans for making them accessible to thousands across England.
Historic milestone today in our battle against COVID-19.
The first antiviral treatment for vulnerable people to take out of hospital is being deployed through a national study from today – and to people at highest risk outside the study from next week.https://t.co/usZ4zx5Ug9 pic.twitter.com/vzCUGmyHBO

He defended the government’s sudden shift to Plan B of new Covid restrictions saying:
“We’ve always been clear that should the data change and it looked like the NHS might come under unsustainable pressure… we would act and implement plan B.”
PM Boris Johnson announced that from Friday, masks would also be needed in most public indoor venues and a scheme for Covid certificates or a Covid Pass would begin at some venues in a week.
We are seeing growth in Omicron cases in the UK that mirrors the rapid increases seen in South Africa.
That is why it is now the proportionate and responsible thing to move to Plan B in England, to slow the spread of the virus.

Moreover, people would be asked to work from home where possible. Journalist and broadcaster, Sonia Poulton is amongst the many criticizing these measures.
Govt scientists calling for work from home measures and vaccine passports even though the majority of Omicron cases in the UK are from double-vaccinated. Make this make sense.

It has been a dramatic series of events since The Daily Mirror reported last week that an alleged party took place at 10 Downing Street in December last year. A source has confirmed to the BBC that the event has taken place with ‘dozens of people in attendance.
Following the massive outrage, Ms. Allegra Stratton, the then PM’s aide shown in the leaked video, has resigned in a tearful exit.

The alleged Downing Street Christmas party took place at a time when the UK was in full lockdown and was battling a Coronavirus wave. However, multiple ministers and PM Boris Johnson have repeatedly denied having broken any Covid rules.
Many are calling for a police investigation and one such user’s tweet went viral.
Dear @metpoliceuk, I wish to complain about the Christmas party held at 10 Downing Street on 18/12/2020, when the rest of the nation had been told to cancel all social gatherings. You fined many others for breaking the rules; there should be no exceptions. Please investigate.

Giving voice to a large section of the UK population, Mark Harper, MP for the Forest of Dean, questioned why people should listen to the Prime Minister’s Plan B.
From the Paterson case to the Christmas parties…the credibility of those at the very top has been seriously damaged.
Why should people listen to the Prime Minister’s instructions to follow the rules when people inside Number 10 Downing Street don’t do so?

Naughty Boy, aka Shahid Khan, is a British DJ, record producer, and musician. He had taken 7 epic trials and brought 52 stars to the camp on ITV’s reality show I’m a Celebrity.
The music producer had created quite a stir on social media following his ‘Rice Wars’ with Matty Lee and a recent argument with Adam Woodyatt for deciding to sleep in instead of doing chores on the show.
However, fans were quite divided when he was voted off! Some were relieved that he was out.
Naughty boy is finally out.
He tried to gas-light every one in there. Even tonight he tried to spin it back on Adam.
Naughty didn't do any chores tried to get Adam to apologise to him for calling him out on it!!!#ImACeleb— Roisin (@Roisin7000) December 8, 2021
